Una Ulme, who is the author of the blog “Ageless“, together with the stylist Iveta Vecmane invited three photographers – Liene Pētersone, Linda Lauva and me – to create portraits of 15 agelessly beautiful women. The first time I saw Maija was at the dance rehearsals and she inspired me with colours, tattoos, sparkles. Every time I meet her I tell myself not to wear black the next day. Of course, Maija is more than rainbows and unicorns. She is a beautiful dancer, illustration&henna artist and she creates wonderful, funny sculptures of polymer clay. Check out her work here: www.maijabika.com. Maija has a pomeranian named Kuskus, a joyful dog with an excited expression on his face, who wanted to participate in the photoshoot very much. I had the same expression when I saw the crazy beautiful colours on the seaside that matched the pastel background we used for the first part of the shoot. Magical evening. Thank you, dear Maija! Six friends from Riga landed in Barcelona to continue the journey to the North of Spain. Of course we couldn’t miss the beauty of Antonio Gaudi’s work (I finally visited La Pedrera) and walk around this charming city. Barcelona was more crowded than I experienced it on the previous trips so I would suggest traveling there in the off-season. The Northern part (La Rioja and Basque Country) of Spain is excellent destination if you look for less touristic places, enjoy delicious food and fantastic landscapes. My favourite part of the trip was the Flysch hiking trail from Zumaia to Deba (La Ruta del Flysch) in Basque Country. The grand finale of this trip was a crazy fun day at the Batalla del Vino (wine fight) in Haro.
